Georgetown has two kinds of window problem and they are nothing alike. The old houses near the center still have their original sash, drafty but repairable. The subdivisions built in the eighties and nineties have vinyl windows that are now old enough to fail, and when a sealed unit goes cloudy there is nothing to fix. We will tell you which one you have and whether it is worth replacing yet.

1,500+ windows installed across the North Shore
The right windows for a coastal, historic town are not the same as a builder-grade suburban spec.
If your house is from the eighties or nineties, you likely have first generation vinyl. Those windows did their job and are now at the end of it: the seal between the panes fails, you get fog you cannot wipe off, and the insulating value is gone. That is not repairable and it does not get worse slowly, it just stays broken. If your house is older than that and still has wood sash, you have a different question, and sometimes the answer is that you do not need us yet.
A single failed sash on an otherwise sound window is a repair, not a replacement. If that is what you have we will say so, even though it means a smaller job for us. What we will not do is tell you that eight good windows need replacing because two bad ones are next to them. Replace what is actually failing, and the rest when it gets there.
Georgetown sits away from the water, and inland towns run colder on winter nights than the coast does. That shows up as condensation on the inside of the glass on the worst mornings, and as a cold band of air along the floor in rooms with big windows. A modern insulated unit with a low-E coating and argon fill is what stops it. We put the actual energy numbers from the label on your quote so you can see what you are buying.
If your house predates 1978, the state's lead safe renovation rules apply, and our crews are licensed for that work. If it predates the town's historic review area, check with the town before ordering anything, because approval comes first and it is a lot easier to ask than to undo. We will tell you if we think your address needs that conversation.
We pull the permit through the Georgetown building department, we are named on it, and we are the ones the inspector talks to. Our Massachusetts HIC registration number is on the contract and on this site, as state law requires.
Price moves with the window count, the style, the glass package and what we find when the old unit comes out. A whole house of standard double hungs is a very different number from a house with bays, bows and specialty shapes. We measure every opening, we quote the job rather than an average, and the estimate is free.

A straight answer on whether to repair or replace, then an exact quote. That is the whole pitch.
We measure and look at your actual windows in your actual home.
Repair or replace. If a repair makes sense, we say so.
An itemized price in writing. No high-pressure close, no fake deadlines.
Clean, professional installation and a respectful job site.
Seaside replaced all the windows in our home and we could not be happier. The crew was professional, on time, and cleaned up everything. The new windows look beautiful and the house is already warmer.
We had a great experience working with Andy! He replaced two old storms and installed a new full view storm door on the front door of our Historic Salem home. Very knowledgeable and professional!
No. The fog means the seal between the two panes failed and the gas fill is gone, and there is no repair for that, only replacement of the sash or the whole unit. The good news is you do not have to do the entire house at once. We replace what has actually failed and leave the rest.
Usually not. First generation vinyl from that era is at the end of its service life now, and the first sign is almost always a fogged unit or a sash that will not stay up. If only one or two are going we will tell you to wait on the rest.
Most Georgetown houses are one day. Larger houses or ones with bays and specialty shapes can run two. We are in and out the same day on each room, so you are never sleeping with an open opening.
For most of the town, no, just a building permit, which we pull. If your house sits in a regulated historic area that changes, and you need approval before anything is ordered. Call us with the address and we will tell you which situation you are in.
Yes, including zero percent on approved terms. We will tell you what you qualify for before you commit to anything.
